MY BOOK VINTAGE HARDBACK e-reader cover, by KleverCase
Today, a review of an e-reader cover.
http://klevercase.co.uk/collections/ereader-tablet/products/my-book
This one is very much a disappointment. I was so excited for this case. It looks great, looks just like a book. I didn't mind the lengthy shipping, as it was shipping in from outside the country.
However, the case was not nearly what I expected. I got the universal, which should hold just about any 6" e-reader. Now, I understand that not all e-readers are exactly the same size, but for my e-reader to have a nice snug fit, it would have to be three quarters to a full inch taller. That's quite a ways off for a universal. Second, the moment I put my reader in the case, the glue that held it together began to separate. This isn't something I picked up at the dollar store or PoundLand, the glue should be a little stronger than that!
Since it looks nice, I am most likely going to separate the rest of the glue and put in some other way to affix my e-reader to the case. Perhaps I can find a cheap, ugly case, and take out the attachment system from that case.
I like it's look, but the quality isn't what I was expecting.
Alice in Zombieland, by Nickolas Cook
Alice in Zombieland by Nickolas Cook
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I didn't like this book much at all. The zombie premise really felt shoe horned in. I see potential in the author who came up with this new version of Alice, however, this book doesn't feel very creative. They just threw blood and corpses all over Alice. I was expecting Alice to fight the zombies, not just play out a nearly identical plot line covered in blood.

The Shining, by Stephen King
The Shining by Stephen King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was bloody fantastic! The middle dragged on and on a bit, however, the last third of The Shining is absolutely riveting. Well worth the slow journey through the middle third.
The action is describe with great detail, without droning on about anything. King's writing made me feel as if I was there, witnessing this myself.
I absolutely loved this book!

Much like the others, it's an amusing little story. However, there just isn't a whole lot to say about it. It's filler, but it's enjoyable filler.
I had fun reading this.

This one, I could leave or take. It focused a little too much on building, which got old hat after a bit. Not every story in a series can be the best of the bunch.

Dead and Hellbent, by Naomi Kramer
DEAD (and hellbent) (DEAD by Naomi Kramer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It's an amusing trot through Heaven and Hell. If you like a light, silly read, I highly recommend this one.
The profanity was a little excessive this time around. It's fast paced, but not rushed. Jumping back and fourth from the first person perspective of each character is unique, and makes for a nice break from the usual reading experience.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, by Lewis Carroll
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is truly a wonderful book. Alice explores a wonderful land full of whimsy and silliness.
I couldn't put the book down, and I found that I could relate well to Alice.

Women In Diapers and Children's Crusade Against the Taliban, by June Tarr
Women In Diapers and Chrildren's Crusade Against the Taliban by June Tarr
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
This is by far the worst piece of "literature" I have ever abused my eyes and brain with. It's 6 pages of nonsensical drivel. I realize that is redundant, but this "book" requires such redundancy to fully portray to you the depth of imbecility contained within. It is poorly written, and reads like the groggy ramblings of someone recounting the nightmare they just awoke from. It jumps wildly from confiscated diapers to dead guards to flying tea cups. It claims to be satire, but it simply isn't coherent enough to carry any sort of point or amusement. I understand her plight, the airport screenings have become absolutely ridiculous. However, that does not change the fact that this little ebook is indeed the worst thing I have ever read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It is short, very short, but the message is deep and sincere. I think I understand why my friend asked me to read this book.

It's a short book that is fun to read, plenty of snark. I found it to be an excellent breather between longer novels.

This book certainly isn't the best book I have ever read, however I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, fun read. Dialogue is a little harsh at times, but does add to the story. The concept of an angry ex-girlfriend tormenting her ex-boyfriend and murderer is a good laugh!

I certainly did enjoy this book. It's an easy read, well suited as a break from more difficult books. This book seems to point out many issues with the average people in today's society. I recommend this very much, and encourage you to read it.

Metagame, by Sam Landstrom
MetaGame by Sam Landstrom
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I found may parts of MetaGame to be a bore. However, the underlying message about what, or shall I say who, is and isn't a person, was enough to keep me reading. The ending was certainly a welcomed surprise, and caught me off guard. MetaGame certainly isn't my favorite book, but very much worth reading!

Waiting for Normal, by Leslie Connor
Waiting for Normal by Leslie Connor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book was an addictive read. It's a story about a young girl in a less than perfect home situation. Her mother's priorities aren't exactly in order, and the home she lives in isn't exactly warm and inviting.
I really enjoyed this book, and I almost regret giving it away as I would like to read it again. Perhaps I will acquire a copy for my e-reader.
